Reitman adopts a light, whimsical touch in his character scenes and doesn't allow the broader comic setups or the alien special effects to take over the movie.. This movie's greatest strengths and weaknesses are in its action scenes.. Blade II is almost excessively violent -- OK, it is excessively violent -- but that's exactly what Snipes and Blade fans want. Believe me, they get it.. There's no seduction here, no build.
