The palette is post-apocalyptic America, with generous squeezes of every cinematic pigment from The Omega Man to Mad Max to Night of the Living Dead. Really, the lack of flying saucers ultimately becomes quite amazing.. If ever a movie was made for a quick in-and-out engagement at the multiplex, this is it.. H.G. Wells did it better.
